“Frankly speaking, I did not realize how popular he was until we began working together. … It is remarkable how he remained untainted by his fame as Asia’s top star,” the 62-year-old veteran actor said in an interview with the local daily OBS.

An iconic actor of the 1990s, Moon won best actor three times at the annual Blue Dragon Film Awards, in 1992, 1994 and 1996.
The two worked together on “Sea Fog,” which opened on Aug. 13.

Moon pointed out that the film was the start of Park’s movie career. “He was given a big role in his first film,” the senior actor recalled. “(Park) seemed to be constantly reminding himself that he should not add to the burden to other crew.

“He totally threw himself into it, and we could see how much effort he put into the movie,” he added.

Moon hoped that “Sea Fog” would be a milestone in Park’s acting career.

“I have seen some actors experience a natural boost in their acting skills by working with many experienced actors. I have a feeling that ‘Sea Fog’ will be very helpful in developing his potential.”

“Sea Fog” tells the story of six sailors who become entangled in a mysterious scheme while carrying a group of stowaways through dangerously thick sea fog. The film stars Park, Moon, Kim Yoon-seok, Han Ye-ri, Kim Sang-ho, Yoo Seung-mok and Lee Hee-joon.
