The music video of soundtrack “Born To Fight” for a Hollywood film by Korean-Chinese boy group UNIQ surpassed 200 million views mark within 10 days of its release.

Released on Oct. 24, the soundtrack for the upcoming American film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” drew nearly 180 million views only on the Chinese video sharing site QQ.

UNIQ features in the soundtrack for the Chinese version of the Hollywood movie.

It is noteworthy that the five-member boy band made this achievement although their video was not even uploaded on YouTube. In China, video sites such as QQ and others are more widely available than the internationally-recognized video site YouTube.

World-famous “Gangnam Style” star Psy also sent shockwaves through the world pop scene by clearing 200 million views mark with the hit song “Gentlemen,” less than 10 days of its release. But his video was more widely accessible than UNIQ’s.

UNIQ is the result of collaboration between Korean entertainment powerhouse YG Entertainment and China’s biggest talent agency Yuehua Entertainment. The group is composed of two Korean members -- Cho Seung-yeon and Kim Sung-joo -- and three Chinese members -- Wong Yibo, Ki Wenhan and Zhou Yixuan.

The rookie band dropped their first album “Falling in Love” on Oct. 20 in Korea. After wrapping up shows in Korea, the quintet will embark on a two-month tour around Asia to promote their album.

Upon their return to Korea, UNIQ plans to release a new track early next year.
