“The Mutant” has seized movie critics’ attention thanks to the global reputation of its director, Kwon. He wrote the screenplay for film “Safe” that won the top short film award in the Cannes International Film Festival.

The scenario for “The Mutant” and which role Lee will play is not yet disclosed.

Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin late this year.

“The Mutant” is part of CJ E&M’s talent recruiting program, “Butterfly Project,” in partnership with Korea National University of Arts.
