The donation of 2,220 kg of rice to a local nursing home was made Aug. 9, prior to the launch of 2PM’s fourth studio album “Go Crazy” on Sept. 15.

It has been a unique Korean fan tradition to support their favorite stars by sending bags of uncooked rice, dubbed “starmi (star rice),” to the needy neighbors.

The fan club delivered the rice donations to the Central Nursing Home in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, which shelters about 100 underprivileged seniors. The donated starmi can feed approximately 2,000 people for a month.

The nursing home officials and the elderly residents extended their words of appreciation to Woo-young and his fan club.

The fan club told the media that Woo-young’s fans will continue to make donations to the socially isolated and needy neighbors.
