Police referred a defamation case in which a netizen wished girl group Miss A member Suzy dead online to the prosecution for indictment on Monday.

Seoul Gangnam Police Station booked the 30-something office worker without detention on charges of defamation.

The legal action was taken after the Twitter user cursed Suzy online in November, saying “Banish Suzy from the showbiz industry! I wish she would die in a car accident!”

Suzy also countered the Tweet, saying, “You wish I could die.”

Police said the netizen seems to have committed the crime out of jealousy. She reportedly told police that her husband had liked Suzy too much.

Suzy’s agency JYP Entertainment said it has no intention to drop the charges against her.
