In-ha, a city news reporter, first encounters Jae-myung while interviewing him for saving a child from a car accident. In-ha rejoices about the exclusive interview with the heroic man. But Dal-po realizes that the interviewee is his biological brother who seeks revenge for In-ha’s mother. Dal-po’s real name is Gi Ha-myung, which has been kept secret since he was adopted by In-ha’s grandfather.

Dal-po tells In-ha that she should never contact or talk to Jae-myung, because he is ill willed against news reporters. But In-ha is perplexed, because she does not know that Dal-po is related to Jae-myung, and that Dal-po has been hiding his personal history since childhood.

In his childhood, Dal-po’s father died in disgrace in a fire accident. In-ha’s mother, who then was a social news reporter, falsely reported that the man's cowardice caused the death of several innocent lives. The continued negative news on Dal-po’s father drives his mother and his little sister into committing suicide. After the tragedy, Dal-po and Jae-myung grow in separate homes, and Dal-po ends up being adopted by In-ha’s family.

In the next episode, In-ha will find out about Dal-po’s relationship with Jae-myung.

“Pinocchio” is aired every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m.
