JTBC, a cable TV station, decided Tuesday to indefinitely postpone the production of its drama “Slave Women,” due to a recent fire accident.

JTBC halted all production arrangements of the period drama, following the death of a female production staff in a sudden outbreak of fire at the regional production site in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, three days ago.

The victim was a 35-year-old scripter, surnamed Yeom, who was working in the production monitoring office on the second floor of the building.

With the first episode broadcast on Dec. 12, the drama’s broadcasting schedule is now up in the air, JTBC told reporters.
