Female college students picked Lee Jong-suk as the best date for Christmas, an arts college study showed on Thursday.

In a recent survey conducted by Seoul Arts College, Lee won 27.4 percent of the votes, with 87 out of 318 female students voting for the “Pinocchio” star as the most desirable man for Christmas.

In SBS’ rom-com Pinocchio, Lee plays Choi Dal-po, a man who would sacrifice everything for his one and only love, Choi In-ha. He would even give up college education and become a taxi driver to pay the heroine’s college tuition. He is always the first one to find her in trouble and rescue her. He even refrains from his family feud against In-ha’s heartless mother to protect In-ha’s feelings.

The second and third places went to “My Love from the Star” star Park Hae-jin (21 percent) and “Misaeng” hero Lim Si-wan (14.5 percent).

In “My Love from the Star,” Park plays Lee Hwi-kyung, a son of a business tycoon, who has a never-ending crush on his high-school classmate Chun Song-yi. He wishes Chun had imperfections or vulnerable moments, so that he could play the part of her white knight. Lee Hwi-kyung’s sporadic fits of childish jealousy of Chun’s male neighbor also seized the heart of many female viewers.

In “Misaeng,” Lim Si-wan plays Jang Geu-rae, a clumsy yet passionate new employee at a company. His slouch and shyness have attracted many female viewers’ caring instinct. Playing Jang, who puts trust before anything else at work, Lim has established the image of a faithful lover.

Hallyu star Kim Soo-hyun and singer-actor Lee Seung-gi followed with 9.5 percent and 7.9 percent, respectively.
