Original creators of ‘Spy’ say Jaejoong fits his role perfectly

The original creators of KBS2’s upcoming drama “Spy” complimented singer-actor Jaejoong as the perfect actor for the lead role.

According to local reports Monday, Israeli producers Ron Leshem and Amit Cohen expressed satisfaction with the choice of Jaejoong for the main character, Sun-woo.

“It’s very surprising to know that Jaejoong, a worldwide star with such a wide variety of fans, has been chosen for the main part,” they said. “It’s an honor to have him participate in the drama, and we would like to meet him if we have a chance.”

Sun-woo, a South Korean intelligence agent and an outstanding data analyst, develops a romantic relationship with Yoon-jin, to be played by actress Ko Sung-hee.

Based on the Israeli drama “Mice,” the thriller tells the story of Sun-woo and his mother, a former North Korean spy played by actress Bae Jong-ok.

Two episodes in a row will air from 9:20-11 p.m. every Friday, starting Jan. 9.
