Singer-actor Yim Si-wan shared an interesting anecdote involving top actor Song Gang-ho in an interview with a group of local dailies on Friday.

The 27-year-old member of boy band ZE:A said he was flattered to the skies when top actor Song Gang-ho, 48, praised him in person.
“Mr. Song Gang-ho said he enjoyed ‘Misaeng’ and promised to buy me dinner,” Yim said gleefully.

“After the Blue Dragon Award, I wanted to see him in person, but the (tight) schedule held me back. Sometime later, Song asked me out for dinner, so we went out to eat. I was so grateful that he always takes the trouble to keep in contact with me.”

Yim and Song costarred in “The Attorney,” which won a Blue Dragon award, along with actor Oh Dal-soo and actress Kim Young-ae. The film, which was based on a true story, won 13 nominations at the BDA, a phenomenal showing at the annual film festival, and was seen by more than 1.1 million theatergoers. Song won the best actor award and Yim won the most popular actor award.

After his success on the silver screen, Yim struck another jackpot on television, with a lead role on cable network tvN’s office drama “Misaeng.”

Yim played the contract worker Jang Geu-rae, a new face at the office, who witnesses the harsh competition of the “office slaves” and strives to survive in order to earn his daily bread.

“Misaeng” concluded on Dec. 20 with an 8.2 percent audience rating, a remarkably high achievement for a cable network drama.
