JYP Entertainment’s new artist G.Soul will make his debut this month after receiving 15 years of training, according to the label.

Park Jin-young, the founder and CEO of JYP Entertainment, revealed a video on Friday to announce the long-awaited debut of G.Soul.

Alongside the video, he wrote on Twitter, “G.Soul who left for the U.S. to study music nine years ago returned to Korea with 20 songs he wrote and composed.”

“Loneliness in a strange country, old days when he was ill, impoverished family background did not deter his passion for music,” he added.

The teaser video features G.Soul practicing dance moves and working on his music in the U.S.

G.Soul, whose real name is Kim Ji-hyun, has trained since 2001 under JYP Entertainment, home to a slew of hit K-pop groups such as 2PM and Miss A.

He will debut later this month, but the exact date has yet to be confirmed.
