"Gangnam 1970" star Lee Min-ho exhibited a penchant for long overcoats at press conferences for his newly released film last week.

At his towering height of 187 cm, one would expect the actor to have difficulty finding knee-length coats in a country not particularly known for producing tall male actors.

Yet Lee, who wore a long, diamond-patterned suit jacket at the "Gangnam 1970" film premiere on Wednesday, revealed a fondness for knee-length coats at three consecutive promotional events.

On Friday, Lee wore a gray fleece parka over a black sweater and solid navy slim fit jeans, and brought a selfie stick. He also wore comfortable white Adidas sneakers to the event in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

The following day, the star, who overturned his romantic hero image with his sinister film role, sported a black synthetic jackets over a black shirt and navy skinny jeans, complete with zip-up sneakers. He also carried a pastel bouquet at the press conference in Seoul's Myeong-dong district.

Lee, who prefers modest and conservative shades, appeared in a more formal gray pinstripe coat on Sunday at CGV's Yeouido branch in Seoul. The celebrated young actor also wore washed rolled-up straight leg jeans and mahogany brogues.

"Gangnam 1970," also marketed as "Gangnam Blues," is a noir crime film set against the urbanization of the now-fashionable Gangnam district during the 1970s. The blockbuster marks Lee's return to the big screen after an eight-year break.
