K-pop boy band Big Bang will return to the music scene earlier than scheduled as the production of its new album is progressing well, local media reported Monday.

“Big Bang set a direction for the new album and the members are working round-the-clock,” said an official from its label YG Entertainment.

“Though the members are busy with overseas schedules, they are commuting to their office every day to focus on producing the upcoming album,” the official added.

The official said that it is likely Big Bang will complete the album earlier than planned and the quality is also much better than expected.

Big Bang leader G-Dragon hinted at its long-awaited comeback after a three-year hiatus in his interview last November.

“We are working on a new album. Our comeback has been delayed because we want to bring you good music, but we are not ready yet,” G-Dragon said.

“YG Entertainment is putting priority on Big Bang’s new album release. We understand that fans have been waiting for so long,” the official said.

Following the album release in 2012, Big Bang members have been pursuing activities individually and in subgroups, turning up trumps.

Its subunit GD X TAEYANG, composed of G-Dragon and Taeyang, topped local music charts and TV programs with its track “Good Boy” last December. Taeyang also dominated year-end music awards across Asia with his solo track “Eyes, Nose, Lips.”
