Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has been named as a strong candidate for the title role in KBS’ forthcoming drama “Producer,” written by “My Love from the Star” scriptwriter Park Ji-eun.

Kim’s agency KeyEast said, “Kim has been offered the lead role in the drama and is currently looking over it. But nothing has been confirmed yet.” Kim was reportedly offered the role of a variety producer.

“Producer” drew much public attention as Seo Soo-min, producer of comedy show “Gag Concert,” will take the helm of the drama along with the renowned scriptwriter who wrote the megahit drama “My Love from the Star.”

“Producer” centers upon a broadcasting company but details about the plot remain unknown.
