Veteran Korean singers, including soloist Yangpa and g.o.d’s Kim Tae-woo, failed to halt the champion of MBC’s music competition program “King of Masked Singer,” who has dominated the show for months.

The champion named “Big Music Boy in Backalley” -- who is believed to be Guckkasten’s vocalist Ha Hyeon-woo -- continued his eight-episode winning streak after performing the song “Waiting Everyday.”

Yangpa defeated Kim in the final stage of the episode by performing “The Wind Blows.” Yangpa, disguised as Wonder Woman, vied with “Big Music Boy in Backalley” to become the champion, but stopped short of dethroning him.

Viewership ratings for the episode was 14.1 percent, 1.5 percent behind that of KBS 2TV’s variety show “One Day Two Nights.”
