Wanna One tops brand value among K-pop boy bands in August

The 11-member group Wanna One boasts top brand reputation this month.

The Korea Reputation Center collected and analyzed more than 160 million pieces of data on 320 individuals in K-pop idol groups between July 18 and Saturday. The 11 members of the boy band made a clean sweep of rankings from No. 1 to No. 11.

Among the 11 members, Kang Daniel came out top receiving a brand reputation index of 12.3 million, followed by Park Ji-hoon, Ong Seong-wu, Hwang Min-hyun and Yoon Ji-seong.

“The individual brand reputation of Wanna One’s Kang Daniel received high ratings for ‘cute, handsome, cool’ in link analysis and ‘Wanna One, Energetic, abdominal muscles’ in keyword analysis. In positive-negative rating analysis, it got ratings that were 86.6 percent positive,” said Koo Chang-hwan, the head of Korea Reputation Center.

Five members of EXO -- Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Suho, Sehun and Xiumin -- four members of BTS -- Jimin, Jungkook, V and Jin -- and two members of Winner -- Kang Seung-yoon and Song Min-ho -- secured their spots among the top 30 on the list.

Released each month, the brand value ranking is based on participation, communication, media and community indices.
