Actor Ryu Seung-ryong praised Suzy’s charm and beauty during the press conference of upcoming periodic flick “The Sound of a Flower.”“Looking at Suzy is like finding a pearl in the mud,” he told reporters in Seoul on Thursday. “Even when she has charcoal painted on her face and speaks in a dialect, you can see her beauty.”

He also thinks Suzy and Jin Chae-sun, the role she is playing in the flick, have many similarities. “Suzy is very free,” he said. “She also challenges herself and is very cheerful, very similar to Jin Chae-sun.”The film, directed by Lee Jong-pil, is based on a real story between Joseon era pansori (traditional Korean narrative singing) theoretician Shin Jae-hyo, played by Ryu, and his gifted student Jin Chae-sun, the first female pansori singer, played by Suzy. “The Sound of a Flower” also stars Song Sae-byuk as a famous pansori singer Kim Se-jong and Kim Nam-gil, as prince regent Heungseon Daewongun.
