Korean actress Yoo In-young went through special-effects makeup as a corpulent lawyer in a recent filming shoot for forthcoming KBS‘ new drama titled “Oh My Venus,” according to a local media outlet. Yoo plays Oh Soo-jin, a charming female lawyer who loses a great amount of weight. Oh appears as the new girlfriend of Woo-sik (Jung Gyu-woon), but faces rivalry from his ex-girlfriend Kang Ju-eun (Shin Min-a).

During filming, Yoo had to go through a three-hour makeup routine in order to transform into a 120-kilogram lady. She was filming a scene in which Oh Soo-jin has her first blind date after putting on a lot of weight. During the shoot, there were some funny moments where some staff did not recognize her after her makeover, Yoo said. “Although I could comfortably focus on the drama shoot, since no one could recognize me, it was still a bit disappointing, in some ways,” joked Yoo after the filming. “I want to convey gratitude to the makeup team, who made a flawless change based on my character.”The rom-com “Oh My Venus” features the story of Kang Ju-eun (Shin Min-a), a lawyer who once was known as the “Venus of Daegu” but has since gained weight while working in her busy job, receiving help from a celebrity trainer Kim Yeong-ho (So Ji-sub).
