Director E J-youg’s “The Bacchus Lady” was praised at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, also known as Berlinale.The film successfully premiered at 8 p.m. on Feb. 12 at Cinemaxx Theater in the city.A lot of foreign media praised the flick for its unique plot that with senior sexuality, which is not a common subject in cinema.Around 600 people attended the premier, and many fans sought the autographs of actress Yoon Yeo-jung and actor Yoon Kye-sang who played the lead roles. During the stage greeting ahead of the show, the director gave an brief explanation about the title of the film, saying that it portrays the lives of impoverished elderly in Korea and their sexuality.
The movie revolves around an elderly woman, played by Yoon, who makes money by selling the popular energy drink Bacchus and offers sex services on the side.It will be released in Korea this year, but an exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet.By Kim Soo-hyang ()
