Actress Shin Se-kyung, who is the celebrity ambassador for the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, will be visiting India to promote women’s rights and education there, her agency Namoo Actors said on Sunday. Shin will collaborate with UNESCO in its project to provide women who live in remote regions in India with sewing machines. It aims to break the poverty cycle and empower women by educating them about self-employment.

Shin’s agency said, “The part of India Shin will visit is where women suffer under the weight of the caste system, religious discrimination, and obsessive patriarchy.
