Korean rap duo Leessang is in a dispute with the owner of a restaurant in a building owned by the duo.Suh Yoon-su had run the restaurant since November 2011, before Leessang purchased the real estate in Sinsa-dong of Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in summer 2013. Leessang initially refused to renew Suh’s contract but eventually reached an agreement in August of that year: The rap duo gave Suh a deposit of 180 million won ($155,000) and Suh agreed to run his store in the basement and in the parking lot, where he sold tripe in a tent. However, the Gangnam-gu Office demanded the tent be pulled down in October 2013, saying that running the business there was illegal. But when Leessang asked Suh to end his business in the parking lot, Suh argued that the change would be a breach of contract. Leessang eventually sought to evict Suh. The court ordered Suh to leave the building, as Suh had not requested a renewal of the sublease contract. Suh and about 70 members of a group called “A Group of Vendors who Want to do Business Freely” are staging a protest this Thursday in front of Leessang member Gary’s house. Gary is widely known as one of the cast of Korean variety TV program “Running Man.” By Lee Ji-hae ()
